untitled

so i've been trying to decide what i should write in today's blog... and i have nothing.
i mean, i did find some pretty cool footage on youtube from this year's Comic Con convention, including The Wolfman trailer starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. i also finally found the Watchmen footage i've been trying to find for almost a week now. of course the guy who was recording said footage kept annoyingly turning the camera away at pivotal scenes... but i don't blame him, i wouldn't want to be caught by the convention Nazi's who would have most likely smashed his pricey camera to pieces in an instant.
speaking of Watchmen ever since i saw the teaser trailer, i haven't been able to stop thinking of the movie.

Dare i say this will be the next Dark Knight?

so, after watching the teaser literally six times in a row the day it was released (about a couple of weeks ago), i decided that i must read the graphic novel that it's based upon. (created by Alan Moore, the same guy who created the amazing V For Vendetta) after being lazy for about a week, i attempted to set out and find the Holy Grail of all graphic novels... but my quest fell short, as i went to our local Border's book store and learned that they were all sold out.
DAMN THE AMAZING TRAILER!
i then decided that i might as well order it online since i had a better chance to get it there. first, i tried BarnesandNoble.com, but as i was attempting to check-out, i noticed the fine print saying the book would be available by the end of August
DAMN THE AMAZING TRAILER!
then i went onto Borders.com, read the fine print, and saw that it would be shipping in a few days. well, i ordered the book last Monday, July 21st, and my book has not shipped yet.
DAMN THE AMAZING TRAILER!

the day i finally get my long awaited graphic novel will truly be a happy day for myself.

i guess i did have something to talk about in the end.

NOTE:
if you're curious what the song is in the teaser it's The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning by the Smashing Pumpkins

i already downloaded it and have listened to it several times, heh.

this looks promising

as you will come to learn about me, i am simply a Disney freak... i will love anything and everything related to Disney. especially Disney movies. not only Disney Movies, but Feature Animation movies.

so when news broke about four years ago that their lackluster of a movie Home on the Range would be their last hand drawn film and that they would instead be going the CGI route, i was devastated. how could they just push aside their amazing abilities to bring drawings to life, to make them believable, and to make you want to care about them? and what would Walt think if he knew of what they did?

but, have no fear! they are officially bringing back hand drawn animation!

this is the teaser trailer for The Princess and the Frog, due out in 2009. here's an official synopsis from ComingSoon.net:

A musical set in the greatest city of them all, New Orleans, "The Princess and the Frog" marks Disney's return to the timeless art form of traditional animation. The film teams Ron Clements and John Musker, creators of "The Little Mermaid" and "Aladdin," with Oscar®-winning composer Randy Newman to tell the most beautiful love story ever told... with frogs, voodoo, and a singing alligator.

and the most important factor of the film is that it includes the first ever African-American princess, voiced by Dreamgirls' Anika Noni Rose.

after watching this trailer, i felt a surge of true excitement. the same excitement i felt when i first saw trailers for Pocahontas, Hercules, Mulan, and so many others.

enjoy!

blog number one

well, this is my first blog. woo hoo.
i've attempted to start other blogs many, many times, but i feel like i'll give it another go... maybe i'll actually write in it more than once. who knows.

today was a most eventful day (note: sarcasm is in this sentence). i started off doing my normal, summer morning routine, which consists of waking up at around 10 in the morning, followed by visiting all of my many websites that i check up daily, then hanging out on my couch watching tv. while i was in the middle of typing a Myspace message, i noticed my computer began to shake and thought to myself," Hm. That's odd." i then detected the sound of all of my prized Disney figurines shaking, and thought to myself," Hm. I really hope those don't fall down and break because i've spent far too much money on these pieces of porcelain and it would be an awful shame if all of my money went to waste."

last time i felt an earthquake, it was extremely small, and after asking people if they had felt it, they looked at my like i was crazy. so i figured this time around i might have beent he only one who felt it.

about five minutes after the shaking had ceased, i get a phone call from my dad asking me if i had felt the earthquake as well... my dad works in Malibu. after my disbelief, he told me to turn on the tv and watch the news, so i willingly did so and came to learn that the earthquake i had felt was actually a 5.8 on the Richter scale and had originated in Chino Hills.

well, i guess i really wasn't the only one who had felt the earthquake...
